Visions

The vision of the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies (KCSGJ) is to create a society that enjoys gender equality and guarantees human rights, regardless of differences.

Missions

The mission of the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies (KCSGJ) is the integration of the gender perspective in all spheres of life, as well as the development and implementation of inclusive public policies through advocacy based on gender analysis.

Historical

The Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies was established in 2002 by the Women's Program at the Foundation for Open Society in Kosovo. It was the first organization of its kind in Kosovo. Kosovo Center for Gender Studies, as an organization whose mission is to integrate the gender perspective into all analyses, programs and policies of all sectors of Kosovar society, has been a voice since its establishment at the central and local level, in the production of contextualized feminist knowledge, documenting the history of political activism of women and the promotion of feminist activism among younger generations.

The missions of organizations such as the Kosovo Center for Gender Studies, in addition to being vital for the development of social dialogue between women and activists, are to change the political status quo which goes to the detriment of women and other underprivileged groups. For two decades, the Center has served these goals with dedication. Since its establishment, KPSG has tried to play a role in promoting women's rights and gender equality in Kosovo with great dedication.

It has also tried to be a defender of the women's movement in commitment and action, despite the challenges which have been expected reactions from patriarchal culture and institutions. As a Center, we have created an address which, in addition to welcoming activists, encourages and promotes feminist thinking, solidarity and political commitment to change the situation Socio-economic and political issues of women. This has consisted of continuous work to enrich gender studies with research, translations and various feminist contributions, interventions and advocacy in political laws and practices which directly affect the lives of women and other marginalized groups, thus positively influencing the political spirit.
