Young Women Involved in Political Parties and Political Processes

“Young Women Involved in Political Parties and Political Processes” is a project funded by the European Union, which began implementation in December 2016. The overall goal of the project is the full implementation of the Law on Gender Equality and the Law Against Discrimination of Women, through improving their participation in political and decision-making positions in public institutions. The project aims to channel change through three key axes: Strengthening the capacity of local women's NGOs; Greater opportunities for
mobilizing members and activists through new trained women; and increasing the visibility and reach of local women's NGOs through increased visibility and field presence.

The project aims to achieve the following specific goals:

  • Increasing the participation of young women voters and leaders in Kosovo in general and in the Prizren region more specifically;
  • Capacity building of young women to successfully compete in public policy and institutions;
  • Improving policies that encourage greater participation of women
  • Extracting evidence about the challenges young women face in participating in politics for future programs of the Government and non-governmental institutions;
  • Raising awareness about the importance of women's full participation in the political and public arena.
